The student body is self-organized as the Associated Student of Madison (ASM). ASM is comprised of about 50 elected and appointed students and with a budget of over $43 million. ASM’s work is dedicated to direct action, governance and service. There is a historic legacy of ASM’s student activism that dates back decades.
